The "Schreckhof" near Rehborn in the Palatinate is still standing and owned by the Schappert family in the 7th generation. For Ray Lane, journalist from the Washington DC area and a descendant of Anton Schappert, who was born 1801 at this farm, the visit was a serendipity moment.
