"Research and Travel" started as a European research project in Migration Studies at the University of Oldenburg in Germany and is known and protected as “Routes to the Roots” in Germany and the European Union. Due to copyright restrictions, we do not use this title in the US. Since 1997, the privately run institute headed by Dr. Grams has operated serving its clients in genealogical research and cultural tourism and has become the leading initiative in the field in Germany.
Research and Travel cooperates with the German National Tourist Office in New York and with many institutions, tourist organizations, genealogical and historical societies in Germany and the US.
Dr. Grams is the research and project consultant for Ancestry.com; he also manages and cooperates with German archives and repositories.
We are always interested in broadening our connections and cooperating with specialized travel agencies and tour operators in America.
